Het is nu echt bijna zo ver…. de spullen zijn gepakt.. de vlucht ingecheckt en hotel en auto staan klaar. Woensdag 12 (morgen) vlieg ik samen met Arvid ( @arvid ) naar Florida. Donderdag en vrijdag lopen we het NASA complex rond..

Kijkende naar deze foto van de STS-129 tweetup denk ik dat kan toch niet waar zijn? Je kunt het kreng nog net niet aanraken maar zo dichtbij.. Ik kan alleen maar hopen een dergelijke foto mee terug te brengen!

Heb er heeeeel veel zin in al zie ik zoals altijd weer vreselijk op tegen de vlucht.

Hoop dat jullie het niet erg vinden dat ik er zo af en toe over tweet of schrijf.. .ben nogal opgewonden 😀

Tot tweets vanuit een warm Florida! enne ik heb beloofd wat zon aan de staart mee te nemen.. dus als @klm meewerken wil hebben we volgende week wat meer zon hier 🙂

1:20 p.m. — Instructions for launch day, board buses 1:30-6:30 p.m. — Tour of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, including visits to the International Space Station Center and Apollo Saturn V Center. Your tour will drive by the Orbiter Processing Facility, Vehicle Assembly Building, Mobile Launcher Platforms and Crawler-Transporter. The last stop on the tour will be Launch Pad 39A to view retraction of the Rotating Service Structure, scheduled for 5:20 p.m. and space shuttle Atlantis. We will have a short break at the press site at about 4:30 p.m. If you need to leave, you may do so at that time. For the tour, you must wear long pants and closed, low-heeled shoes. Tank tops are not permitted.

 

Friday, May 14/Launch: Day 2

9:30 a.m. — Arrive at Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39 Press Site.

10 a.m. — Group picture beside the countdown clock.

10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. — Free time and visits from guest speakers, including

NASA Tweetup and Technology

Tweetup participants will have their own air-conditioned tent with video monitors, power outlets, WiFi and tables and chairs. We will have free Wi-Fi available both days. The SSID and WEP Encryption Key for the STS-132 NASA Tweetup will be available at registration.

Eerlijk gezegd.. ik  kan niet wachten!!!!!

NASA Tweetup STS-132 14 Mei 2010

Zoals sommige weten ben ik samen met (zo ver ik weet) 3 anderen uit Nederland uitgekozen uit een lijst van mensen die graag eens een lancering mee willen maken. Er mogen in totaal 150 mensen komen naar NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
Het gaat om de lancering van de Atlantis welke haar laatste vlucht gaat maken en het is de op 2 na laatste lancering ooit! Het Space Shuttle programma stopt en de laatste 3 vluchten staan gepland.

Wij mogen 2 dagen (de 13e en de 14e) vertoeven op de NASA sites en worden in een aantal gevallen up close and personal betrokken bij sommige processen. We zitten dus zeg maar.. eerste rang 🙂

Omdat het redelijk uniek is kan ik me voorstellen dat er wellicht instanties zijn die het interessant vinden als er verslag gedaan kan worden. Nou hier is jullie kans!!! 🙂

Schaamteloze zelfpromotie is dit! 🙂

Dus .. verslag van de laatste vlucht van de Atlantis.. of verslag van de launch sites? Vanuit de pers plaatsen met woord, foto en video ..

Tot zo ver deze commercial break.. nu weer terug naar heerlijke onzin, n3rd praat en g33k talk..
